Where our whey comes from

Our whey protein isolate comes from grass-fed dairy in Ireland. It is native whey, which means it is filtered directly from fresh milk rather than collected as a by-product of cheese making. Our whey is tested for heavy metals and is compliant with EU regulations.

How to use whey protein isolate

Shake 3 tablespoons (30g) with 375mL of water, coconut water or your choice of milk in a blender bottle and drink straight away. You can also blend it with fruit and greens, stir it through overnight oats or yoghurt, or bake it into slices, cheesecakes and pancakes. For more ideas, browse Teresa's high protein recipes.

Grass-fed whey protein isolate FAQs

What is grass-fed whey protein isolate?

It's whey protein isolate made from the milk of grass-fed cows. Whey isolate is filtered to remove most of the fat, carbohydrate and lactose, so it is mostly protein. Our Pure Native WPI is grass-fed whey isolate sourced from Ireland.

Is whey protein isolate better than whey concentrate?

Whey isolate goes through extra filtering, so it is higher in protein and lower in fat, carbohydrate and lactose than whey concentrate. Many products sold as 100% whey are concentrate or a blend. Pure Native WPI is isolate only.

What does native whey mean?

Native whey is filtered directly from fresh milk rather than collected as a by-product of cheese making. Our Pure Native WPI uses native whey protein isolate.

How much protein is in one serve?

A 30g serve (3 tablespoons) gives you 26g of protein in Natural and Vanilla, 25g in Salted Caramel and 24g in Cocoa.

Is Pure Native WPI lactose free?

No. It contains negligible lactose. Whey isolate filtering removes most of the lactose, and we add lactase enzyme to break down what remains. It contains milk, so for a dairy-free option choose our Organic Pea Protein.

Is whey protein isolate good for you?

Protein is necessary for tissue building and repair, and whey protein isolate is a simple way to add 24 to 26g to your day. It works best as part of a balanced diet, not as a meal replacement.

Is it high in sugar?

No. There is no added sugar. Natural is unsweetened, Vanilla and Cocoa are sweetened with organic steviol glycosides, and Salted Caramel uses monk fruit extract and thaumatin.

Is it okay to have whey protein isolate every day?

For most healthy adults, yes, at the recommended serve and alongside a balanced diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18 or managing a health condition, check with your doctor or dietitian first.

Is it gluten free and vegan?

It is free from gluten. It's made from milk, so it isn't vegan. For a vegan option, choose our Organic Pea Protein.

Can I bake with whey protein isolate?

Yes. Teresa uses Pure Native WPI in protein slices, cheesecakes, pancakes and overnight oats. Natural is the most versatile for baking because it has no added flavour or sweetener.

How do I mix whey protein isolate without clumps?

Add the liquid first, then the powder, and shake well in a blender bottle for 15 to 20 seconds.

How much does it cost per serve?

Each 800g tub ($99.95 RRP) makes 26 to 28 serves, which works out to about $3.60 to $3.85 per serve.
